Before taking a career break to raise her children, Clea toured and co-wrote with former Public Image Limited bassist and world-music aficionado Jah Wobble, with whom she toured The USA, Canada and Europe (including big name festivals such as Bestival and WOMAD). Her debut solo album Us Against the World, was praised for her ‘smooth, dreamy and effortless vocals’ and compared to Macy Gray, Jem, and Dido.
